Rahul Kanegaonkar is an experienced Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon managing both adults and children. He also has a specialist interest in ear disease including hearing loss, tinnitus, dizziness and vertigo.

Rahul studied at University College London, completed an Intercalated BSc in Anatomy in 1992, and graduated in Medicine in 1995. Whilst at University he was awarded both the Maurice Elton prize in Oncology and the FMR Walshe prize in Neurology. His Ear, Nose and Throat training took place in London and the South East, including Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, Great Ormond Street Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

He is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon at the Princess Royal University Hospital (King’s College Hospital NHS Trust) where he treats both adult and paediatric patients with general Ear, Nose and Throat conditions, and the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel where he leads the Specialist Balance Team.

He has a keen interest in ear disease and specialises in hearing loss, ear infections, and tinnitus. He also has a specialist interest in Balance Disorders including benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) and vestibular migraine. His recent publication in the Royal College of Surgeons of England suggests a possible cure for Meniere’s Disease.

Rahul is a Professor in 2 disciplines, the first in Otorhinolaryngology and a second in Medical Innovation. He was previously the President of the British Balance Network Rahul has written several books, book chapters and has published over 40 papers and has presented his work internationally on numerous occasions. He is an examiner for the European Board Examination in Otorhinolaryngology and is due to start as an Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
